Join KBTI at the first annual Welcoming the Troops Home event in Emporia, Kansas! Take this opportunity of a life time to meet with thousands of our nation’s brave men and women who are actively defending our great country, and many more who served and defended our country just as courageously in past wars. The event will feature great speakers and musical performers the entire family will enjoy.

Special guest speakers include Gunnery Sergeant Nicholas A. Popaditch, USMC (ret). Special invited guests include the American Legion, American GI Forum, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Blinded Veterans Association, National Federation of Blinded Veterans, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts, and all Kansas State Senators and Representatives. Musical guests include The Dave and Friends Band.

Admission is free. Plenty of food and beverages will be provided. Please bring your own chairs.

The event is scheduled for March 28, 2009, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. It will be held in Soden's Grove Park. The event is scheduled to be held outdoors, but will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather. The park is located at the intersection of S Commercial Street and Sodens Road, Emporia, KS 66801.
