Q: What is the first step in joining our program?
A: Submit an application

Q: How much does the transcription training course cost?
A: $5,000.00 total for the in-house program, $2,500 total for the distance learning program.

Q: How long does the transcription training course last?
A: Approximately one year.

Q; Will I need to purchase my own equipment (scanners, embosser, binding materials, etc.)?
A: Yes.

Q: How much does a certified Braille transcriber typically make?
A:

  • Per year: $18,000.00 to $50,000.00, plus benefits
  • Per project: $75.00 to $5,000.00
  • Per hour: $8.00 to $35.00
  • Per page: $0.25 to $5.00

Q: When do courses begin?
A: After your application has been submitted and approved, all necessary paperwork has been completed, and payment arrangements have been made.
